I was just wondering if anybody else is getting fed up with the random dudes walking around at night and digging through our trash looking for cans. It didn't bother me at first because we recycle anyway and as long as its going to the same place then whatever. But now, i'm getting a little bothered by the fact that these strange men are creeping around waiting to dig through my stuff. Tonight for example, I was wheeling out my trash cans and noticed a guy in a hooded sweatshirt just kind of waiting on the corner for me to walk away so he could go through my trash when I left. First of all, standing in the shadows, wearing a goodies is creepy enough. Second, although once the trash hits the curb it's supposedly public domain, it still makes me feel I little violated. Hell, just come up and ask me and I'll give someone some cans... but waiting around like a tiger ready to pounce, and waiting for me to walk away kinda sketches me out a little. Same goes for those guys who come racing around in their trucks looking for scrap metal. Seems like there's more of them now. One of those trucks came by today also and whipped through our cul-de-sac like he was trying to qualify in a NASCAR race. I guess what I'm getting at, is I'm tired of people who have no business being in our neighborhood, milling around and looking for stuff to pilfer. How long before their helping themselves to other stuff? Let me know if I'm making a big deal out of nothing.

Sorry. Meant to write "wearing a hoodie"... not, "wearing a goodie". Wrote this on my phone... you know how that goes.

I'm with you. I put my can out at 11:00 PM last night and when I went to check this morning to see if Republic had been by yet, I noticed the contents of the can were all rearranged and there were holes poked in the trash bags. It makes me feel a little violated knowing that my trash was picked through.
